Ultra-compact high-pressure design

At only 156 mm high, the Carisma CSS-ECM is engineered for retrofit projects with limited ceiling voids. Its compact profile makes it ideal for listed buildings, loft conversions and modern homes with shallow service spaces.

Maximum pressure, flexible routing

Delivering up to 400 Pa of available static pressure, the CSS-ECM easily handles long duct runs, multiple branches and tight bends. Complex layouts can be achieved without increasing unit size, simplifying challenging installations.

Efficient EC motor control

Available in three capacities, the CSS-ECM uses a brushless EC motor with continuous 1–10 V speed modulation. Airflow automatically matches room demand, providing quiet operation, stable comfort and outstanding energy efficiency.

How Efficient Ultra-low EC inverter motor continuously modulates speed to room load for minimal power consumption and low operating costs.

Cool Output 0.5–3.8 kW Ultra-compact fan coil for shallow ceiling voids. Designed for 7°C chilled water with three output sizes.

Heat Output 0.5–4.0 kW Ideal for 1–2 small rooms or a single zone. Design water temperature: 35–50°C.

Height 156 mm Slim profile for shallow ceiling voids, loft conversions, listed buildings, and retrofit installations.

How Loud 22–51 dB(A) Very quiet at part load. Insulated ductwork further reduces operating noise.

Energy Rating A A-rated heating efficiency. Available in 2-pipe or optional 4-pipe configuration with additional heating coil.

Power 230 V Standard single-phase 230 V, 50 Hz supply. Typical power consumption: 4.5–108 W depending on size and speed.

Central or per-room thermostats

Choose a central thermostat (WM-AU, WM-S-ECM, or CB-T-ECM) for whole-unit control, or per-room wall-mounted units when motorised dampers are installed. The thermostat continuously adjusts fan speed to match each room's temperature setpoint.

WiFi and building automation

Advanced options include WiFi-enabled remote control (T-MB2, CB-Touch via smartphone app) and Modbus/KNX building automation. Motorised per-room dampers enable independent room control — ideal for boutique hotels, clinics, and multi-unit residential where occupants need individual temperature adjustment.

Manual or motorised dampers

Manual dampers (lowest cost) allow occupants to modulate their room's airflow. Motorised dampers (higher cost, full automation) adjust via sensors or BACnet/KNX commands.

Architectural review is completed before installation to ensure the available ceiling space is suitable.

02 Fit day 2–4 days · on site Engineer confirms ceiling void clearances, fabricates and installs pre-insulated ductwork within the available space, mounts the unit, connects water and electrical supplies, installs dampers and diffusers in each room, commissions the thermostat, and tests both heating and cooling performance.

03 Learn how to use 30 minutes · same day We walk you through thermostat operation, manual or motorised damper control, annual ductwork inspection, filter cleaning, and condensate drain maintenance to ensure reliable long-term performance.

Annual filter service

Inspect and clean or replace the polypropylene cellular fabric filter once a year. The EC motor and inverter board are sealed and require no lubrication — no specialist tools or engineer visit needed for routine upkeep.

Water circuit checks

Water connections are 1/2" BSP brass fittings with 16 bar maximum operating pressure. Chilled water supply should be 7°C; hot water 35–50°C. If cooling performance drops, check for blocked ductwork, debris in the coil, or water pressure/temperature issues.

5-year warranty

Carisma CSS-ECM comes with a 5-year warranty covering all mechanical and electrical components, subject to annual maintenance documentation. Extended warranty and professional maintenance packages are available.
