A 5-micron polypropylene cartridge catches sand, silt, rust flakes and pipe debris. Protects everything downstream — especially the twin membranes, which are the expensive part to replace.
A solid block of activated carbon removes chlorine, chloramines, and disinfection by-products. Critical pre-membrane step — chlorine destroys RO membranes; carbon out front extends their life.
A built-in 24 V DC pump raises feed-water pressure to drive the membranes at full flow. This is the part that enables tankless operation — the pump produces enough flow that you don’t need a tank buffering the slow output of a passive RO.
Two thin-film composite membranes in parallel. Same 0.0001-micron pores as a single-membrane RO — same 99.8% rejection rate — but the parallel arrangement doubles flow. PFAS rejection is specified at 99% on this membrane class.
A small carbon cartridge after the membranes catches any taste compound from the internal plumbing. Final polish before the water reaches your glass. Replaced annually with the filter kit.
RO water alone tastes flat. Aquaspring adds back calcium and magnesium in measured amounts, restoring taste and balancing pH to roughly 7.2–7.5. Same stage as the Standard PRO — Ecosoft’s family signature.
Tap lever
The only control the user touches in normal use. Push the lever and the pump kicks in automatically; release and it stops. Pressure-sensing inside the system — no electrical switch on the tap.
LED filter indicators
Three LEDs on the front of the unit show life remaining on the cartridges. Green for fine, amber at ~30 days remaining, red when due. Service trigger you can’t miss — useful for short-let owners not on site.
Filter-change reset
Single recessed button on the front, pressed for 3 seconds after each cartridge swap. Resets the LED counter for the next 12 months. We do this on the annual service visit; DIY users do it after swapping the kit.
Power switch
Rocker switch on the transformer cable. Use it to power the system off when going away for more than two weeks — saves the ~5 W standby draw and lets the system fully depressurise. Always-on in normal use.
Mains inlet isolator
Quarter-turn ball valve upstream of the system. Engineer’s on/off for service work. Pair with the power switch when going on holiday so the system is fully off and water-isolated.
Drain saddle valve
Isolates the drain line. Used by the engineer during cartridge change to avoid spillage — bypasses the small reject-water stream that would otherwise run during the swap.
TDS sample port
Small push-fit port on the product line. Engineer takes a TDS reading at each annual service to verify the twin membranes are still rejecting at 95%+. Below 95% triggers a membrane swap.
Inline digital TDS · optional
Battery-powered TDS display fitted on the tap line. Two buttons: mode (inlet vs outlet TDS) and calibrate. Shows real-time purity on the worktop. £65 add-on for the data-curious owner.
Compact filter block
All six stages housed in a single moulded block roughly half the depth of the standard 6-stage. Food-grade polypropylene. Quarter-turn cartridges. This is the entire system you see when you open the cupboard.
Twin RO membranes
Two thin-film composite membranes in parallel inside the block. Same membrane class as our commercial RO range — specified at 99% PFAS rejection and 99.8% TDS rejection. Replaced together every 2–3 years.
Built-in DC boost pump
24 V DC diaphragm pump pressurises feed water. This is the part that enables tankless operation — without it you’d need a tank. Sealed unit, 5-year design life, no user maintenance.
24 V transformer
External plug-in transformer steps mains 230 V down to 24 V DC for the pump. Plugs into a normal under-sink 13 A socket. CE marked, energy-efficient standby.
Aquaspring cartridge
The stage-6 re-mineralisation cartridge. Food-grade media puts calcium and magnesium back into the pure RO water in measured doses. Same cartridge as Standard PRO — service plans share parts.
Dedicated chrome faucet
Slim lever-style drinking-water tap. Drilled into the worktop next to your main kitchen tap. Chrome standard, brushed nickel on request, no extra cost.
Drain saddle clamp
Clamps onto the existing waste pipe under the sink. Self-piercing — no soldering, no repipe. Drain output is the small reject-water stream from the membranes — less than half the volume of a standard 6-stage.
JG tubing & fittings
1/4" food-grade LDPE tubing in colour codes: blue inlet, red drain, white product. Push-fit fittings throughout. Tool-free service.
Dedicated kitchen tap
Slim chrome spout next to your main tap. Press the lever, the pump kicks in, water comes out within 2 seconds at full flow. Your regular tap still works normally for washing-up.
Fresh every pour
No tank means no stagnation. Every glass is freshly made from cold mains water through the filters and membranes — not water that sat in a tank for hours. Matters more than people expect.
Coffee, formula, ice
Bigger taste change shows up in coffee, tea and stock than in cold drinking water. Re-mineralised RO is suitable for baby formula too — balanced minerals, no chlorine, no lead.
Pause for holiday
Going away for more than a fortnight? Flip the transformer power switch and close the mains inlet isolator. Flush the lines on return. Two-step shutdown shown on handover.
Annual filter kit
Direct Flow filter kit from £65. All six service stages in one tool-free swap. CleverBloom service plan includes the kit, the visit, the TDS test and the LED reset — or DIY in 20 minutes and we post the kit.
Twin membranes 2–3 yr
The two RO membranes are replaced together every 2–3 years based on the TDS reading. We test at each annual service and only replace when rejection drops below 95%.
No tank sanitisation
Tank-based RO needs sanitising every 3 years to control bacterial load. Tankless eliminates this entirely — no tank, no biofilm, no sanitisation step. One less thing on the service plan.
2-yr warranty · 5-yr housings
Full 2-year manufacturer warranty on the system, including the pump and transformer. Housings warranted 5 years against leaks. CleverBloom handles any warranty claim direct with Ecosoft.
Heat pump unit only. Radiators, UFH, and emitters are on the heating page.
