A thin mat under the floor

A thin electric mesh mat sits under your floor tiles or laminate. The mat has a heating wire woven through it. Electricity flows through the wire, the wire warms up, the floor above warms up.

Warm feet, warm room

The floor warms from below. Your feet feel warm walking on it. The warm floor then gently heats the room around it — no radiators on the walls, no boilers, no hot water pipes.

Just 3.8 mm thick

The mat is thinner than a slice of bread. Goes under tiles in the bathroom or kitchen without raising the floor level much — important for renovations where you don't want to lose ceiling height or rebuild door thresholds.

Sized to the room

Five standard outputs from 60 W/m² (gentle warmth, well-insulated room) up to 200 W/m² (full heating, less-insulated room). We pick the right one during the home visit.

Controlled by a thermostat

A small thermostat on the wall sets the floor temperature. Set it once, leave it alone. Or use a phone app for weekly schedules. Required by EU rules — CleverBloom supplies one as standard.

Simple dial thermostat

A small dial on the wall — turn it up, turn it down. Familiar, no app needed, batteries last years. Best for older users or holiday homes where simple is better.

Touch-screen thermostat

A small touchscreen on the wall. Set a weekly schedule directly — warm bathroom from 6:30 to 9 am, off the rest of the day. Optional phone app for changing settings remotely.

Smart thermostat with app

Full smartphone control. The Etherma app sets schedules, monitors usage, detects open windows automatically. Best for those who want to fine-tune costs.

One thermostat per room

Each room with eFloor gets its own thermostat. The bathroom can be warm while the kitchen stays cooler. Independent, no central balancing needed.

Combine with LAVA

Etherma’s touch thermostat can run eFloor and LAVA infrared panels together — one wall control covering both the floor heating and the ceiling panel.

02 Coordinate with builder 1 hour If you have a builder or tiler already, we coordinate with them. The mat goes down between the screed/levelling and the tile adhesive — we time our visit to fit their schedule.

03 Mat install Half a day Mat rolled out and shaped to fit the room. Wires connected to a thermostat point. Floor sensor placed. Continuity tested before tiles go down. The builder then tiles over.

04 Commissioning 15 min Once tiles are dry, we come back to test, set the thermostat, show you how to use it. Final sign-off and warranty registered.

Up to 30-year warranty

Register the install online with Etherma and the warranty extends to 30 years. CleverBloom registers it for you on commissioning day.

Built in Austria

Made by Etherma in Henndorf, Austria. Etherma has been making electric heating systems since 1981.

Nothing to service

No moving parts, no fluid, no refrigerant. Once installed and tested, there's nothing to clean, service, or replace. If it works on day one, it works on year twenty-five.

PFAS-free insulation

The mat uses PFAS-free insulation — no "forever chemicals" that other underfloor heating brands typically contain. Safer for the environment and for the home over decades.

Wet-room safe

Suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms, and wellness areas when installed per UK bathroom-zone electrical rules. CleverBloom handles the certification.

No VAT on the install

UK government has removed VAT on energy-saving heating installs until March 2027. Saves 20% on installation cost.
