10 yr warranty · 50 yr design life
A high-density copper-aluminium heat exchanger sits behind a wall-mounted casing. Three DC fans draw room air through the heat exchanger and blow it back into the room. The temperature differential between the water in the coil and the air passing through it does the work — warm water transfers heat to cool room air in winter, cool water absorbs heat from warm room air in summer.
The Briza 22 Wall accepts chilled water at 7–12°C from a reversible heat pump. That's well below typical UK summer dew point, which means water vapour in the room air condenses on the cold heat exchanger surface — exactly what split-AC units do. The result is real deep cooling: sensible heat removal plus latent heat removal (dehumidification) at fan-coil output levels.
A stainless-steel condensate tray captures the water condensing on the heat exchanger. A small low-noise pump lifts the water up to a tundish or floor outlet — typically routed back to the soil stack, an existing waste, or a discreet floor gully. The drain run is the single biggest difference between a Briza fan coil install and a Strada radiator install — plan the drain route at first-fix.
In heating mode the same heat pump sends warm water at 35–55°C through the same flow pipe. The Briza switches mode automatically when it reads the heat pump's changeover signal. The condensate pump is dormant in heating mode (no condensation occurs at room-warm temperatures). One pair of pipes serves both seasons — no second outdoor unit, no parallel cooling infrastructure.
The Briza 22 Wall needs a reversible heat pump capable of delivering chilled water down to 7°C. CleverBloom pairs it with the ACOND Aconomis range — R290 all-in-one residential units with reversible cooling. The Aconomis N covers a typical 3-bed retrofit; step up to the Aconomis R, Grandis range, or the Grandis L cascade for commercial scope.
The Briza 22 Wall is 220 mm deep — about the thickness of a one-brick UK external wall. It slips behind furniture, fits above doorways, mounts high or low on the wall, and stays well clear of typical living-area circulation. The casing is powder-coated steel in any RAL colour; flow and return tails exit through the rear or end of the unit, hidden behind it.
Auto · Comfort · Eco modes
Three master modes. Auto modulates fans against room demand. Comfort biases towards faster temperature response. Eco caps fan output at the lower end for silence and electrical efficiency. Selectable per unit at the wall thermostat or at the heat pump's app.
Heat / cool changeover
Reads the heat pump's heat-or-cool changeover signal automatically. In heating, fans assist warm-water output. In cooling, fans assist chilled-water output, and the condensate pump activates. One installer-set parameter, no per-season homeowner intervention.
Room thermostat
Standard 0–10 V or thermostat-contact input — accepts signals from any building controller. Integrates with Tado, Nest, Drayton, Loxone, KNX (via gateway), and the ACOND HeatUp app at the heat pump.
Fan speed modulation
DC fans modulate continuously from 0% to 100%. Output tracks room demand linearly — no on/off cycling, no temperature swings, no fan noise unless the room genuinely needs it. The unit gives the room what it asks for, at the lowest fan speed that meets demand.
Dehumidify mode
A standalone mode that prioritises moisture removal over temperature reduction. Useful in shoulder seasons when the air is muggy but not hot. Fans run at low speed, chilled water continues to circulate, condensate is captured. Available where the heat pump supports independent cooling mode without compressor on/off cycling.
Zone scheduling
Time-of-day temperature programmes per zone. Bedrooms cooler at night, living areas warm at 6pm. Holiday mode drops the lot to frost protection. Cooling schedules independent from heating schedules. All configured at the heat pump's control app.
Condensate alarm
If the condensate pump fails or the drain backs up, an alarm fires before water overflows the tray. The unit shuts down cooling mode automatically and notifies the homeowner through the app — fail-safe protection against ceiling damage in upstairs installs.
Night-silent mode
Caps fan boost during user-defined hours. Useful for bedrooms in noise-sensitive properties. Reduces cooling output slightly but holds the unit below typical bedroom background noise levels.
Smart home integration
Standard 0–10 V and dry-contact interfaces integrate cleanly with Loxone, KNX, Crestron, or the ACOND HeatUp app. The unit takes its master signal from whichever orchestrator the building already runs — no proprietary protocol, no orphan ecosystem.
1 · Briza 22 Wall unit
Powder-coated steel casing housing the heat exchanger, fans, and condensate tray. 220 mm deep, 800–1,400 mm wide depending on output, 600 mm tall. Mounts high or low on a solid wall — bracket geometry suits standard hollow or solid construction. Choose RAL colour at order.
2 · High-density heat exchanger
Copper-aluminium core with tight fin pitch sized for deep cooling. Higher surface area than the Strada range — accepts chilled water at 7°C and transfers it efficiently to room air. Stainless-steel condensate collection at the base of the coil.
3 · DC fan bank
Three brushless DC tangential fans modulating 0–100%. 24 V DC supply. Mounted along the casing base, drawing air in through the lower grille and blowing it out through the upper grille. Replaceable as a service item.
4 · Condensate tray + pump
Stainless-steel tray captures condensation forming on the cold heat exchanger surface. A small low-noise pump (≤24 dB(A)) lifts water up to a tundish or floor outlet up to 3 m above the unit. Float-switch alarm if drain backs up. Replaceable as a service item.
5 · 24 V DC PSU
Wall-mounted PSU near the unit, 230 V mains in, 24 V DC out to the fan motors and condensate pump. One PSU per unit (deep-cooling fan coils have higher electrical demand than radiator-format emitters). RCD-protected from the property's lighting circuit.
6 · System reversing valve
A 3-way changeover valve at the heat pump's buffer manifold routes flow to the heating loop in winter and to the cooling loop in summer. One valve serves all emitters across the property. Specified during the heat pump survey, not at unit level.
10-year body warranty
Jaga warrants the Briza 22 Wall body and heat exchanger for ten years from commissioning. Covers the copper-aluminium core, the steel casing, and the powder-coat finish. Conditional on treated system water and a magnetic filter on the heating circuit. Both parts and labour covered.
2-year fan & pump warranty
DC fan motors and the condensate pump covered separately for two years. After that both are low-cost service items — slide out from under the casing, no specialist tools, swappable in under twenty minutes. Genuine Jaga spare parts available indefinitely.
50-year design life
Jaga publishes a 50-year design life on the Briza body. Stainless-steel condensate tray prevents the corrosion that ends most fan coils prematurely. Belgian-built to a long-life specification rather than a lowest-cost specification.
Annual filter clean
A washable inlet filter at the lower grille catches dust before it reaches the heat exchanger. The homeowner removes it, vacuums it, washes it, refits it — five minutes a year per unit. CleverBloom service plans include this as part of the annual heat pump visit.
Annual condensate flush
The condensate tray and pump need a vinegar flush once a year to clear any biofilm before the cooling season. CleverBloom service plans include this. Self-managed in summer if the homeowner prefers — instructions in the handover pack.
SYSTEM PROTECTOR
Magnetic filter & corrosion inhibitor
A magnetic filter on the heat pump return and corrosion inhibitor in the fill water protect the Briza's narrow copper waterways from sludge and from mixed-metal corrosion. Mandatory for Jaga's 10-year warranty when retrofitting onto an existing wet system. Fitted in the plant area during the heat-pump install, serviced annually.
Heat pump unit only. Radiators, UFH, and emitters are on the heating page.
