Extract

Stale, humid air is drawn continuously from the kitchen, bathrooms, en-suites and utility room through Ø160 mm ducts back to the unit — carrying moisture, cooking smells and CO₂ out of the house.

Recover heat

A slowly turning aluminium rotor passes alternately through the warm extract stream and the cold incoming stream, carrying heat — and moisture — from one to the other. Up to 86% of the heat is retained.

Filter

Incoming outdoor air passes an ePM1 60% (F7) cartridge, capturing the fine PM1 and PM2.5 fraction from traffic along with pollen and dust. Extract air passes an ePM10 50% (M5) filter that protects the rotor.

Supply

Pre-warmed, filtered fresh air is delivered to bedrooms and living rooms through spiral ductwork and ceiling or wall valves, balanced against the extract rate at commissioning.

Free cooling

When outdoor air is cooler than indoor, the C6M stops the rotor. Air passes straight through without heat transfer — night cooling for the cost of the fans alone. Rotary units need no bypass damper.

Frost protection

In cold weather an integrated electric pre-heater and rotor speed modulation keep the exchanger clear without shutting down supply air — so an airtight house is never left depressurised by extract-only running.

Max Airflow 496 m³/h At 100 Pa external static pressure. Reference flow 347 m³/h; balanced residential range 135–320 m³/h.
Heat Recovery up to 86% Rotary aluminium exchanger. Passive House Institute certified at 79% under PHI test conditions.
Sound Level 38 dB(A) Casing-radiated sound power; about 28 dB(A) at 3 m. Duct-borne sound is higher — attenuators fitted as standard.
Power Use 55–147 W Both fans combined: 55 W at reference flow, 147 W at maximum. Specific power 0.30 Wh/m³ (PHI).
Coverage up to 180 m² Typically 3–5 bedroom homes. The R 400 V it replaces covers about 120 m². Final sizing to Part F rates.
Dimensions 585×655×680 Vertical floor-standing cabinet. Allow 700 mm clear at the front for filter and rotor access.
Weight 60 kg Requires a level, load-bearing base — loft installations need a boarded and supported platform.
Duct Connections 4ר160 + Ø125 All on the top face — allow 300 mm above. Left- or right-hand configuration specified at order.

Control

C6M controller. Eight preset modes with weekly scheduling as standard; demand control added by fitting an optional humidity or CO₂ sensor. Wall panel ordered separately.

8 preset modes

Away, Normal, Intensive and Boost, each with its own supply and extract setpoints.

Weekly scheduling

Day-by-day programme so the house ventilates to occupancy rather than running flat out.

Air-quality control

Optional humidity or CO₂ sensor on the C6M's air-quality input drives fan speed automatically.

External override inputs

Kitchen, Fireplace and Override modes triggered from switches — boost while cooking, reverts on timer.

0–10 V intensity input

A separate 0–10 V signal can set ventilation intensity where a third-party controller drives the system.

Modbus RS-485

Standard. BMS, home automation and landlord monitoring — airflow, fan speed, filter status, temperatures.

Web browser interface

Full settings and diagnostics from a browser on the local network, no app required.

Komfovent Control app

iOS and Android. Mode selection, scheduling and alarms from the phone.

C6.1 / C6.2 panel

Wall-mounted control panel, ordered separately. C6.2 adds the larger colour display.

Installation

01 Consultation Free · phone or video Room count, wet rooms, plant location and loft or cupboard access. Confirm there is space for a 585 × 655 mm, 60 kg cabinet with 700 mm of front clearance.
02 Design & survey Half day on site Measured survey, plant position, duct routes and terminal positions. We produce a flow schedule to Part F rates and a Lindab ductwork take-off before anything is ordered.
03 Install 2–4 days on site Unit set and levelled, spiral ductwork run and sealed, insulation on the two outdoor-air runs, terminals fitted, 230 V supply and control wiring back to the unit.
04 Commission Half day Measured flow at every terminal, system balanced, C6M modes and schedule set, sensors and Modbus configured. Commissioning sheet issued for Part F, then a handover walkthrough.

Components

A single insulated vertical cabinet holding the rotor, two EC fans, both filters, the pre-heater and the C6M board. All five duct connections leave the top face.

Rotary heat exchanger

Aluminium rotor, up to 86% thermal efficiency. Transfers heat and moisture without the air streams mixing.

Two EC fans

Independent supply and extract, variable speed. 55 W combined at reference flow, 147 W at maximum.

Supply filter

ePM1 60% (F7) cartridge, 517 × 278 × 46 mm. The grade to specify for London and traffic corridors.

Extract filter

ePM10 50% (M5), same cartridge size. Protects the rotor from lint and kitchen grease.

Electric pre-heater

Integrated. Handles rotor frost protection in cold weather — no separate frost coil to specify.

C6M control board

Modbus RS-485, air-quality sensor input, 0–10 V input and external override terminals on board.

Duct connections

4 × Ø160 mm and 1 × Ø125 mm, all on the top face. Left- or right-hand configuration set at order.

Cabinet

585 × 655 × 680 mm insulated casing. Allow 700 mm clear in front for filter and rotor access.

Weight

60 kg — floor-standing on a level, load-bearing base. This is not a wall-hung unit.

Aftercare

The only routine task is changing two filter cartridges. There is no condensate trap to clear and no refrigerant circuit to service.

3 year warranty

Komfovent covers the unit for 3 years. Manufactured in Lithuania under an ISO 9001 quality system.

Filter changes

Two cartridges, every 6–12 months depending on location, cooking and occupancy. Slide out, drop in, done.

Filter alarm

The C6M tracks running hours and raises a filter alarm. Fan power on the controller rises as cartridges load — an earlier warning still.

Rotor drive

A single drive belt is the only wearing part in the exchanger. Checked at each filter change, replaced in minutes.

Remote diagnostics

Over Modbus, the web interface or the app: airflow, fan speed, filter status and temperatures — most faults diagnosed without a site visit.

Parts availability

Komfovent holds stock across current Domekt models — filter sets, drive belts, sensors and control boards.
