Drivers arrive

Up to three EVs converge on the bay simultaneously — at a busy automotive dealership during demonstrator handover, at a taxi cooperative changing shift, at a hotel during evening check-in, at a workplace at 8 AM. The Smart Wall Triple handles all three independently: each socket has its own session lifecycle, its own authentication, its own metering, its own tariff. They share infrastructure but not state.

Authenticate

Three drivers, three sockets, three authentication events — happening in parallel. Driver A taps an RFID card, driver B scans the QR code with the Monta app, driver C arrives on Octopus Electroverse roaming. The triple-channel UCP electronics process all three independently. The OCPP back-office assigns each session to the correct driver, the correct tariff, the correct billing relationship.

Allocate power

First socket gets the full 22 kW available. Second arrival drops both to 22 + 22 = 44 kW combined (still 22 kW each if the supply allows). Third arrival triggers the three-channel DLM: by default, 22 + 22 + 22 = 66 kW combined when supply allows; priority-mode or fairness-mode active if the supply is more constrained. App-configurable per site — different rules suit different operators.

Whole-site load awareness

Beyond the three-socket internal balancing, the unit reads total site current via the CT clamp. A workplace with three EVs charging plus HVAC plus office equipment can briefly approach the main fuse limit; the Triple throttles charging output to keep total site demand within rating. Particularly important for retrofit installs on existing 200–400 A commercial supplies where adding 66 kW of EV demand would otherwise need a DNO upgrade.

Meter and bill — all three

Throughout each session, the charger reports kWh delivered to the back-office every 60 seconds per socket. Three concurrent sessions, three simultaneous metering streams, all flowing to the same OCPP endpoint. At session end the back-office calculates each bill independently — driver A's tariff might differ from driver B's (RFID member vs visitor app), and from driver C's (roaming network). Three independent settlements.

Settle revenue

All three sockets settle revenue through the same back-office account. Monta or similar pays out weekly or monthly to your bank account, less platform fees per session. CSV export segments by socket — useful for sites where different sockets serve different commercial purposes (staff bay vs visitor bay, members vs roaming, taxi A vs taxi B). Single reconciliation point against the site's electricity bill, three revenue streams.

Per-Socket Max 22 kW · alone Maximum AC output per socket when only one or two are in use. Same speed as a dedicated single-socket Smart Wall — three-socket capability doesn't compromise individual-bay performance.
Combined Max 66 kW · combined Maximum combined output when all three sockets are in use. 22 + 22 + 22 = 66 kW on a properly sized three-phase supply. The Triple adds three-socket coordination logic on top: per-socket scheduling, three-channel DLM, per-socket reporting, and parallel multi-session monitoring.

Driivz fleet platform · default for Triple

Driivz is the most common back-office for Smart Wall Triple sites — the per-driver reporting, multi-site dashboard, and enterprise-grade audit trail suit the fleet operator profile. Used at automotive dealerships, taxi cooperatives, and multi-property commercial operators. Higher monthly fee than Monta, justified by enterprise reporting depth.

Three independent sockets

Each socket appears as a separate device in the back-office. Independent schedules, independent RFID authorisation pools, independent tariffs, independent session history. Treats the Triple as three chargers sharing infrastructure rather than one charger with three plugs — gives operators full per-bay billing control.

Four DLM modes

Even split (default — equal power across active sockets), priority cascade A→B→C (taxi-shift workflow), fairness queue (first plugged in finishes first, others throttle), and FIFO-top-up (each car gets a guaranteed minimum rate). Configurable per-site and per-time-of-day in the back-office. Most fleet sites run priority cascade; most hospitality sites run even split.

Per-socket tariff strategy

Each socket schedules independently. Socket A on staff-RFID free tariff, socket B on member-card discount rate, socket C on visitor-QR full rate. Or all three on a flat per-kWh rate for fleet-only sites. Or time-of-day tiered (peak hours = visitor rate, overnight = staff free). The back-office handles all permutations without firmware changes.

Roaming network exposure

All three sockets appear independently on the Octopus Electroverse map, Bonnet network, Plugsurfing, Chargemap — drivers see three available bays at the site, not one. Critical for destination hospitality and dealership sites where three-bay availability is a meaningful upgrade over single-bay availability in driver app filters and search results.

Real-time three-socket dashboard

Back-office dashboard shows all three sockets live — session status, kWh delivered, driver identity, projected session end time. Critical for high-utilisation fleet sites where dispatch needs to know which bay finishes next. Driivz and similar platforms add fleet-specific overlays: vehicle assignment, expected mileage today, charge-state target.

Per-socket and aggregate API

REST API exposes per-socket and aggregate metrics. Per-socket: session history, current state, utilisation rate. Aggregate: site total kWh, total revenue, peak demand profile, fault history. Used by fleet operators to feed automated reporting into company-car-tax systems, by hotel operators to feed revenue into PMS systems, by retail operators to feed energy data into ESG scorecards.

Scale-out to networks

Multiple Smart Wall Triples on the same back-office account behave as one logical network. A dealership group with five Triple chargers across five sites has 15 sockets on one Driivz account, one set of tariff rules, one settlement schedule, one ESG reporting line. No per-site account proliferation. Standard pattern for portfolio operators.

Cloud + 4G + LAN redundancy

All three sockets share one network module. Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz, LAN, 4G LTE backup standard — the same robust connectivity as the Single, with three times more revenue depending on it staying online. 4G LTE is the most critical redundancy on the Triple, since site Wi-Fi outages take three sockets offline at once rather than one.

Installation

02 Fit days 1–1.5 days · on site Engineer team completes final electrical checks, installs the dedicated three-phase circuit and SWA cabling, mounts all three chargers, installs CT clamps where required, configures the back-office platform, commissions all sockets in parallel, and performs live charging and payment tests before handover.
03 Team training 1.5 hours · on handover We train your team on back-office management, tariff configuration, RFID cards, three-socket reporting, troubleshooting, and day-to-day operation. DNO confirmation and Workplace Charging Scheme documentation are handed over where applicable, with ongoing aftercare support following installation.

Components

Eight components make up the Smart Wall Triple — three Type 2 sockets, the AC supply, the CT clamp, earthing, the network module with 4G LTE backup, the OCPP back-office endpoint, the RFID reader bank, and the MID-certified metering. Single shared infrastructure on the supply side, independent metering and authentication per socket.

1 · Three Type 2 sockets

Three IEC 62196-2 sockets across the front face of the unit, equally spaced. Each fully independent in session lifecycle, authentication, and metering. Untethered by default — drivers bring their own Type 2 cables; tethered cable variants available at order for dealership demonstrator-handover sites where customer convenience justifies the cable cost.

2 · Three-phase AC supply

Single three-phase 400 V AC supply feeds all three sockets via the internal three-channel UCP electronics. SWA cable run from a dedicated 100 A breaker (or 125 A for full 66 kW operation) in the commercial consumer unit. Cable size 16 mm² or 25 mm² depending on run length. One supply cable, one breaker, one DNO G99 notification covers all three sockets — the structural reason a Triple is cheaper per socket than three Singles.

3 · CT clamp · site-wide

Single CT clamp on the property's main incoming supply. Reads total site current draw — used by the Triple's whole-site DLM logic to throttle combined output when other site loads peak. Particularly important for commercial premises where the Triple is added to an existing supply rather than designed in from new build, where headroom is often tight.

4 · 4G LTE module · standard

4G LTE module fitted as standard. With three sockets potentially earning revenue concurrently, the cost of a Wi-Fi outage is three times the cost on a Single — 4G failover keeps the back-office endpoint reachable through site internet drops. SIM included; pay-as-you-go top-up via the OCTA app.

5 · OCPP 1.6J endpoint

The unit speaks OCPP 1.6 JSON natively to any compliant back-office. Single WebSocket endpoint serves all three sockets — the back-office sees three logical chargers behind one network connection. Endpoint URL configured at commissioning; back-office swappable later without hardware changes.

6 · RFID + MID metering, per socket

Three independent RFID readers (one per socket) and three independent MID class B energy meters built into the unit. Each socket is metered separately for trade-billing compliance under EU Measuring Instruments Directive — critical for sites where different sockets serve different commercial purposes or different billing tariffs.

7 · Cable: Tethered vs Untethered

Untethered (Socket) — £3,363 total. All three sockets standard; drivers bring their own Type 2 cables. Best for high-traffic destination sites (hotels, retail) where most EV drivers carry cables anyway. No maintenance liability for damaged cables across three bays, and the unit reads cleanly without three permanent cables dangling.

Tethered (with Cable) — £3,513 total. All three sockets fitted with fixed 5 m or 7.5 m Type 2 cables. The right pick for automotive dealership demonstrator-handover bays (customers may not have their own cable yet), taxi cooperative hubs (driver friction matters per session at scale), and premium hospitality where the +£150 uplift across three bays is justified by removing customer friction during peak-shift periods.

Aftercare

Commercial three-bay sites are revenue infrastructure — uptime matters financially. What OCTA covers as standard, plus CleverBloom's commercial monitoring service plan options specifically designed for multi-bay sites.

3 year manufacturer warranty

OCTA warrants the Smart Wall Triple for 3 years from commissioning. Single warranty covers all three sockets, the triple-channel UCP electronics, the load-management logic, the network module, and three RFID readers and MID meters. Single warranty registration, single point of contact. Extended warranty to 5 years available on CleverBloom's commercial monitoring service plan.

Volvo / Jaguar / Land Rover heritage

The same UCP triple-channel platform runs at Volvo, Jaguar, and Land Rover dealership sites — high-utilisation customer-facing commercial environments where reliability is non-negotiable. Field-proven daily for years across the UK dealer network. The home Octa Wall is this DNA scaled down; the Triple is the platform in its native commercial environment.

UK-stocked spare parts

Spare parts hold in UK stock through CleverBloom's distributor channel — typical part swap-out (RFID reader, communication module, Type 2 socket) is a 2–4 hour fix on a single visit. Critical for commercial sites where a 5-day overseas-shipping wait would mean lost revenue. CleverBloom's commercial monitoring plan adds a same-day callout SLA where geography allows.

WCS grant — £1,050 ceiling

Workplace Charging Scheme grants £350 per socket — £1,050 for the Smart Wall Triple if all three sockets are workplace-eligible. Utilisation-tracked tariff review

A Triple at 6+ sessions/day/socket is genuine commercial infrastructure — at that scale, the gap between your wholesale electricity cost and your customer tariff is the revenue. Bay markings and queue management

Three bays plus driver-facing signage plus floor markings is meaningfully more involved than a single bay. ICE-blocking (non-EV vehicles parking in EV bays) is a real revenue loss at busy sites. Yellow hatching, clear "EV charging only" signage, and 30-minute time limits on free bays are 60-minute install details that determine whether your annual utilisation hits 35% or 18%.
