Modular configurable platform

Geniox is not a fixed product — it is a modular platform configured per project. Each function (intake damper, supply filter, supply fan, heat exchanger, heater, cooler, humidifier, extract filter, extract fan, exhaust damper) sits in its own casing module. Modules combine into the AHU your project actually needs. Sized from Geniox 10 (~750 m³/h) to Geniox 31+ (110,000 m³/h).

Heat recovery — three architectures

Three heat exchanger types available, selected at design stage based on the project brief. Rotary (GenioxC) — high efficiency, moisture transfer, simple. Counter-flow plate (GenioxQ) — zero cross-contamination, hygienic. Run-around coil (GenioxR) — physically separated supply and extract for cases where the streams cannot share casing. Each suits different scopes; SystemairCAD selects the right one for the brief.

Filtration — F7 to HEPA H14

Panel filters (GenioxG) for general commercial filtration; bag filters (GenioxF) for higher capture rates and lower pressure drop; full HEPA H13 or H14 modules for clean-room and healthcare-grade scopes. DELTRI+ virucidal upgrade available across the range — drop-in replacement at the F7 supply position. Filter selection driven by project brief and air quality target.

Hygienic By Design option

Optional configuration for healthcare, pharma, food production, hospital scopes. Smooth internal surfaces with no dust traps. Easy-clean modules. Corrosion-resistant materials. VDI 6022-1 hygiene compliant — German hygienic standard required for hospital ventilation. Specified at order — applies to the entire AHU, not selective modules.

EC plug fans · sized to airflow

EC (electronically commutated) plug fans selected and sized at configurator stage. Larger sizes use multiple fans in parallel for redundancy and modular control. Variable speed via integrated VSD. CAV, VAV, or constant duct pressure control. Operating range −40°C to +40°C — suits outdoor and harsh-climate installations as well as indoor plant rooms.

Heating, cooling, humidification, UV

Optional integrated modules at order: electric or hot water reheater coils, water or DX cooling coils, humidifiers (GenioxX), UV-C lamps for additional virus and mould control, mixing dampers (GenioxM/GenioxP), silencers (GenioxD). Selected per project — turns Geniox from "AHU" into a full air handling system within a single coordinated casing.

Airflow Range 750–110k 750 m³/h (Geniox 10 smallest config) up to 110,000 m³/h (largest split-section configurations). Sized via SystemairCAD per project airflow brief.
Heat Recovery 3 types Three exchanger types selectable: Rotary (GenioxC), Counter-flow plate (GenioxQ), Run-around coil (GenioxR). Efficiency depends on configuration — typically 70–85% for plate, 80%+ for rotary. EN 308 tested.

Casing L2 / EN 1886 Thermally insulated double-wall construction. ABS-designed corners minimise heat loss and eliminate thermal bridging. Air tightness class L2. Hygienic By Design option meets VDI 6022-1 with smooth surfaces, easy clean, corrosion resistance.
Operating Temp -40 / +40°C Designed for air transport and treatment between −40°C and +40°C — covers indoor plant rooms, outdoor plant compounds, and harsh-climate installations. Outdoor weatherproof casing option includes snow protection, rain shields, IP-rated controls cabinet.

Control NaviPad Systemair Access — same control system as Topvex range. NaviPad 7" IPS touchscreen (IP54). Modbus RS485, Modbus TCP/IP, BACnet/IP. Access Connect mobile app (iOS/Android). Systemair Connect cloud service. Multi-unit coordination supported.
Standards Approved Eurovent certified. EN 1886 mechanical performance. ErP compliant. VDI 6022-1 hygiene compliant (with Hygienic By Design option). Made in Denmark / Germany at Systemair production sites.

Control

Geniox ships with the same Access control system as Topvex — NaviPad touchscreen plus full BMS-grade communications. Designed for industrial-scale facility management, with TCP/IP, Modbus, and BACnet integration as standard. The control system scales with the AHU configuration — multi-unit coordination, zone control, plant-room hierarchy.

NaviPad touchscreen

HTML5-based intuitive UI on a flat colour touchscreen, connected via 3 m flat cable. Mounts on the unit or on the wall — easy to detach for handheld use during commissioning. Real-time operating data, settable per project, custom labels for unit/alarms/components.

Modbus RTU + RS-485

Standard on every unit. Serial bus integration with BMS systems via Modbus protocol — typical for office, school and retail fit-outs where ventilation needs to coordinate with heating, lighting, and access control.

BACnet/IP + TCP/IP

BACnet over IP standard — the protocol most commercial BMS systems prefer. Plus direct TCP/IP web server access for browser-based monitoring without additional software. Multi-device monitoring across a local network of Topvex AHUs from one dashboard.

CAV / VAV airflow control

Constant Air Volume standard — fans hold a fixed airflow regardless of filter condition. Variable Air Volume optional — constant duct pressure control, useful where downstream zone dampers vary the building's actual demand (multi-room offices, schools with varied occupancy patterns).

Free cooling + cool recovery

Built-in energy-saving features: when outdoor air is cooler than indoor on a summer evening, free cooling pulls outdoor air directly through bypass dampers. Cool recovery transfers coolness from extract to supply on hot days when outdoor air is warmer than the conditioned space.

Pressure-based filter monitoring

Filter status detected by pressure transmitters with airflow-adjusted setpoint — not a simple time-based timer. Means the controller flags filter change exactly when needed, not on an arbitrary schedule. Useful for variable-occupancy buildings where filter loading rate varies.

Sensor inputs (CO₂ / humidity / temp)

Multiple analog and digital inputs for external sensors. CO₂-driven control standard for occupancy zones; humidity for changing-rooms or kitchens; temperature for night setback, free cooling activation, and frost protection on hot water coil systems.

External electrical cabinet

Geniox has a separate electrical cabinet with all cable connections collected at one place — facilitates commissioning and service without opening the AHU itself. Pre-wired and factory-tested before shipment.

Installation

Geniox is industrial-scale AHU territory — significantly bigger scope than Topvex commercial deployments. Typically 10–20+ days on site for a multi-section Geniox install, plus 6–10 weeks design and configurator lead-time. Best specified at first-fix stage of a major newbuild, refurbishment, or industrial scheme.

01 Design & configurator 6–10 weeks before site Project brief reviewed against Building Regulations, HTM 03-01 (healthcare), VDI 6022-1 (hygiene), or industry-specific standards. Configuration built in SystemairCAD — size, heat recovery type, filtration grade, heating/cooling/humidification, controls integration. BIM model exported to Revit/AutoCAD/MagiCAD. Final spec signed off before factory order.
02 First-fix ductwork 5–15 days on site DW/144-grade ductwork installed by M&E contractor before plasterboard, ceilings, finishes. Insulated where appropriate. Acoustic silencers fitted on supply and extract — required for occupied scopes. External weather louvres, snow protection, intake hoods for outdoor units. Drain pipework for condensate and humidifier sections.
03 Plant install — sectioned 3–7 days on site Geniox 22+ ships in multiple sections to fit through standard doorways. Sections delivered, lifted into position, joined on site by skilled installers. Lifting plan and access route confirmed in advance. Three-phase 400V mains supply. Heating/cooling pipework connected if hydronic coils specified. Drainage routed for condensate and humidifier sections.
04 Commission 2–5 days Run NaviPad commissioning wizard. Set airflow per zone (l/s or m³/h), CAV or VAV mode, schedules, sensor inputs. Measure and verify with calibrated anemometer at every supply and extract terminal per BESA DW/143. Configure BMS handshake (Modbus / BACnet) and verify point register. Hygienic By Design sign-off if applicable. Hand over O&M manual, login credentials, filter change schedule.

Configuration & sizing

Geniox is order-specific. Every project is configured through SystemairCAD — sizes, modules, heat recovery type, filtration grade, heating, cooling, humidification, controls integration, and casing finish all selected per the brief. Below are the major configurable elements.

Size — Geniox 10 to 31+

Standard sizes Geniox 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 27, 29, 31 with split units for the largest. Airflow capacity from ~750 m³/h (Geniox 10) up to 110,000 m³/h on the largest configurations. Sizes 22+ ship as multi-section assemblies for site re-assembly.

Heat recovery — three types

Rotary (GenioxC) for highest efficiency with moisture transfer. Counter-flow plate (GenioxQ) for zero cross-contamination. Run-around coil (GenioxR) where supply and extract must be physically separated. Selected at design based on hygiene requirements, efficiency target, and plant layout.

Filter grade — F7 to H14

Panel filters (GenioxG) for general commercial; bag filters (GenioxF) for higher capture and lower pressure drop; HEPA H13 / H14 modules for clean-room and healthcare. DELTRI+ virucidal upgrade available across the range. Pre-filters fitted upstream of HEPA to protect the HEPA element.

Heating — electric or hydronic

Optional integrated reheater modules. Electric heaters sized to airflow and required temperature rise. Hot water coils for systems with heat pump or boiler hot water — typical for low-carbon retrofit. Multiple heating stages possible on larger units. Specified at order, factory-fitted.

Cooling — water or DX

Optional integrated cooling coils. Chilled water coils for systems with heat pump or chiller. DX (direct expansion) coils for refrigerant-fed cooling. Two-stage cooling possible on larger units. Drip trays and condensate drainage integrated into the cooling module.

Humidification

Optional GenioxX humidifier module — adiabatic or steam, depending on building requirement. Used in healthcare wards, museums, archives, electronics manufacturing — anywhere RH stability matters. Adds a wet section requiring drain routing.

Hygienic By Design (HBD)

Optional configuration for hygiene-critical scopes — hospitals, pharma, food. VDI 6022-1 compliant. Smooth internal surfaces, easy-clean modules, corrosion-resistant materials. Adds to project cost but delivers hygiene certification needed for regulated sectors.

Outdoor / weatherproof option

Geniox available in outdoor weatherproof casing for rooftop and external plant compound installations. Weather hood, snow protection, rain shields, IP-rated controls cabinet. Common in data centre, industrial, and large institutional projects where indoor plant space is constrained.

Aftercare

Industrial-scale AHUs serve buildings that absolutely depend on them — service downtime is operationally critical. Geniox is engineered for predictable, scheduled servicing with full-section inspection access, removable filters and exchangers, and pressure-based filter monitoring that flags change exactly when needed.

2-year manufacturer warranty

Systemair provides a 2-year manufacturer warranty on the unit as standard. Built to Eurovent certification, EN 1886 casing performance, full ErP compliance, and VDI 6022-1 hygiene standards (with Hygienic By Design option). Mature platform — Geniox has been Systemair's modular industrial AHU range for over a decade.

Pressure-based filter monitoring

Multi-stage filters monitored by pressure transmitters with airflow-adjusted setpoint — not a fixed timer. Controller flags filter change exactly when needed. Filter changes typically every 6–12 months depending on outdoor air quality and configuration. HEPA changes every 1–3 years depending on pre-filter performance.

Heat exchanger servicing

Service approach depends on configuration. Rotary (GenioxC) — clean rotor every 3 years or sooner; rotor lifts out from front. Plate (GenioxQ) — plate exchanger lifts out for periodic cleaning. Run-around (GenioxR) — coil washdown via service ports. All three accessible from inspection-side without dismantling ductwork.

Wet section maintenance

Annual visual inspection of condensate drain pans, humidifier modules (if specified), and any wet section drains. Drain pans should be clear of debris and standing water. Traps filled to prevent foul air ingress. Humidifier hygiene per VDI 6022-1 schedule for HBD-spec units. CleverBloom service plan includes wet-section inspection.

Section-by-section access

Full service access via inspection doors on each module — fans, filters, heat exchanger, heating coil, cooling coil, humidifier, controls cabinet all individually reachable. Service windows for visual inspection without opening doors. Lockable handles per industrial AHU standard.
