One coil, multiple rooms

Where the SysCoil Cassette is one coil serving one room or open-plan zone, the SysCoil Ducted is one coil serving up to six adjacent rooms. The single unit sits concealed in the ceiling void above a service zone — typically a corridor or central plant area — and supplies conditioned air through insulated ductwork to flush linear diffusers in each room ceiling. Each room reads as a clean ceiling with just a discreet register; the equipment lives behind the scenes.

When this beats cassettes

A cluster of small rooms (hotel suites, clinic consulting rooms, executive office cells) each typically need 1–2 kW of cooling. A single SysCoil Cassette starts at 2 kW — one cassette per room is over-sized and expensive. One SysCoil Ducted unit at 6–10 kW can serve four to six of those rooms together at the correct per-room output, with significantly lower total install cost than a cassette per room. The right architectural choice for room clusters that share a comfort profile.

Native to Systemair AHU systems

SysCoil Ducted is engineered to drop directly into a Systemair Geniox HP heat-pump AHU network. Same controls protocol, same hydraulic interface, same manifold integration as the Cassette version. For commercial buildings where the rest of the building services package is Systemair, the Ducted is the lowest-friction multi-room cooling option to specify.

Deep cooling at 7–12°C

SysCoil Ducted accepts chilled water at 7–12°C from a reversible heat pump. The chilled water is well below typical UK summer dew point, which means water vapour in the supply air condenses on the cold heat exchanger surface. Result: real deep cooling delivered to every connected room — sensible heat removal plus latent heat removal (dehumidification) at full fan-coil output levels.

Single drain serves the unit

Critical install advantage over the Cassette: only one drain is required per Ducted unit, not one drain per served room. The condensate tray at the heat exchanger captures all condensation, and a single pump lifts the water to existing waste through the ceiling void. The five extra rooms downstream get conditioned air without any condensate hardware of their own — simpler coordination, simpler maintenance.

Same ducts heat and cool

In heating mode the same heat pump sends warm water at 35–55°C through the same coil. The unit blows warm air through the same ductwork to the same room registers. Mode switches automatically on the heat-pump's changeover signal. The condensate pump is dormant in heating mode. One pair of pipes and one set of ducts serve both seasons across the entire connected-room cluster.

Output Range 3–14 kW By unit size at 7°C chilled flow, 22°C room. One unit covers a small clinic suite (3 kW for 2–3 rooms) up to a large hotel-suite cluster (14 kW for 5–6 rooms).
Rooms Served 1–6 By unit size and room load. Typical UK applications run 4–6 rooms per unit at design stage. Beyond 6 rooms, specify a second unit rather than oversizing one.
Chilled Flow 7–12°C Below UK summer dew point — condensation forms on the heat exchanger and is captured by the stainless-steel tray. The deep-cooling temperature range gives fan-coil output levels.
Dehumidify ✓ Latent heat removal alongside sensible cooling. Indoor relative humidity drops as the unit runs — delivered evenly to every served room.
Condensate single drain One drain per unit, regardless of room count served. Pump capability: vertical lift up to 3 m, horizontal run up to 10 m. Float-switch alarm if drain backs up.
Acoustic at Register ≤32 dB(A) Noise measured at the room register at typical occupancy demand. Ducted distribution naturally attenuates fan noise versus a cassette directly above the room.
Refrigerant water-side All refrigerant stays in the heat pump's outdoor unit. Only water enters the ceiling void. No F-gas certification needed at install or service.

Control

Native BACnet integration

Built-in BACnet communication enables direct integration with commercial building-management systems without additional gateways. Modbus and KNX compatibility are also supported through standard interface modules for flexible BMS integration.

Master & zone thermostats

A central thermostat manages supply-air temperature and fan demand, while optional room thermostats with motorised dampers provide individual temperature adjustment for separate spaces without changing the system's main operating conditions.

Automatic heat / cool changeover

The unit automatically switches between heating and cooling based on the heat pump's operating signal. No seasonal user adjustment is required, ensuring continuous comfort throughout the year.

EC fan speed modulation

High-efficiency EC fans modulate smoothly from 0–100% to match room demand. Continuous speed control minimises energy use, eliminates unnecessary on/off cycling, and maintains stable indoor comfort.

Per-room damper control

Optional motorised dampers regulate airflow independently for each connected room, allowing different comfort levels while balancing air distribution across the complete duct network.

Dehumidify mode

A dedicated dehumidification mode prioritises moisture removal while maintaining comfortable temperatures. Particularly effective during humid shoulder seasons when cooling demand is relatively low.

Hotel scheduling

Programmable operating schedules integrate with hotel management systems, automatically adjusting room conditions according to occupancy, housekeeping, or guest check-in schedules to reduce unnecessary energy consumption.

Condensate protection alarm

The system continuously monitors condensate drainage. If a blockage or pump failure is detected, cooling operation stops automatically and an alarm signal is sent to prevent overflow and water damage.

Occupancy & CO₂ control

Optional occupancy and CO₂ sensors adjust airflow according to actual room usage, improving indoor air quality while reducing energy consumption in intermittently occupied commercial spaces.

Installation

01 Phone chat 15–30 minutes · free Talk us through your space, the cluster of rooms to be served (typically 3–6 rooms with similar comfort profiles), the corridor or service zone where the unit will live, and your ceiling-void detail. Send floorplans and ceiling drawings. We confirm unit sizing, ductwork route, register positions, drain route to existing waste, heat-pump pairing. Full quote within 48 hours. Site survey for projects with ductwork over 15 m total length.
02 Fit day 2–4 days on site (per unit + room cluster) Engineer arrives, runs the on-site checks first thing — ceiling void depth at the unit location and along ductwork routes, structural soffit fixings, drain route from the unit back to existing waste, electrical supply route, water hardness reading. Unit suspended in the service zone, ductwork routed through ceiling void to each served room, linear registers cut into the room ceilings. Flow/return tails brought across, condensate pump connected, BMS commissioning. System filled, pressure-tested, cooling mode commissioned.
03 How to use 30 minutes · same day We walk you through the BMS interface, the master controller settings, any per-room damper controls if specified, demo the dehumidify and hotel-mode logic, configure schedules for the typical operating week. Service-access procedure shown — most service tasks (filter change, condensate flush) happen at the unit location, not in the served rooms. Hand over the one-page user card and 5-year warranty documents.

Components

1 · Ducted indoor unit

Galvanised-steel housing containing the heat exchanger, EC fan, condensate tray, and control electronics. Designed for concealed ceiling installation in corridors or service zones, delivering conditioned air through insulated ductwork to multiple rooms.

2 · Insulated ductwork

Pre-insulated rigid ducting distributes conditioned air from the unit to each connected room while minimising heat loss, condensation, and operating noise. Available in circular or rectangular formats depending on the project.

3 · Linear ceiling diffusers

Slim architectural slot diffusers provide even air distribution with a discreet ceiling appearance. Powder-coated finishes match surrounding interiors, with custom sizes and finishes available for premium commercial installations.

4 · High-static EC fan

Brushless electronically commutated fan designed to overcome duct resistance while delivering quiet, energy-efficient airflow. Variable speed operation improves comfort and reduces electricity consumption.

5 · Motorised zone dampers

Optional dampers regulate airflow independently for each room. Controlled by local thermostats or the building management system, they balance comfort while maintaining efficient airflow throughout the duct network.

6 · Condensate tray & pump

Stainless-steel condensate tray with an integrated low-noise pump safely removes moisture during cooling operation. One pump can serve the complete ducted unit, simplifying installation and maintenance.

Aftercare

5-year warranty

The ducted indoor unit, heat exchanger, EC fan, chassis, and factory finish are covered by a five-year manufacturer warranty. Extended warranty options are available with scheduled annual servicing. Parts and labour are included.

2-year pump & controller warranty

The condensate pump, onboard controller, and optional motorised dampers are covered separately for two years. These serviceable components are designed for quick replacement with minimal downtime.

25-year design life

Built for continuous commercial operation with an expected service life of approximately twenty-five years. Durable construction and long-term spare-part availability help maximise system longevity.

Annual filter cleaning

The washable return-air filter should be removed, vacuumed, washed, dried, and reinstalled once a year. Regular cleaning preserves airflow, improves efficiency, and protects the heat exchanger from dust accumulation.

Annual condensate flush

Flush the condensate tray and drain before each cooling season to prevent biofilm, odours, and blockages. Routine maintenance helps ensure reliable drainage and long-term cooling performance.

Heating-system protection

Installing a magnetic filter and corrosion inhibitor helps protect the heat exchanger from sludge and mixed-metal corrosion, improving system reliability and supporting long-term warranty conditions on retrofit heating systems.
